I was stopped by a headline that says, “ Palestinian terrorists have gone online”. Scrolling through it, it sums up that Palestinians have learnt from ISIS when in comes to sowing the seeds of fear. While the article puts a certain analysis, which in my view is based on all but one simple missing fact; Israel and its oppressive regime. In the last few weeks I have been making comparisons between the impressive performances of Israel in certain levels versus the ill performance of Palestinians in certain levels that include elections, media… However, this article sent me back to square one (thank you). The same square that makes me see Israel squeezed inside its own built apartheid wall. This morning another headline caught my attention, and of course I didn’t even bother to skim, was about Saeb Eriqat saying that they are adopting a new strategy that aims to “frustrate the strategic goals that the Israeli government is trying to fulfill against the no-Palestinian authority”. I felt like: “ seriously!!!!!!!!” I love it when we are suddenly surrounded by geniuses in analysis from both sides. Before I start with my confusing run-arounds. The article about our online terrorist recruitment; while the article discusses real alerting things that take place online, and while a special website might be there (that I haven’t seen) like that which recruits people to ISIS (which I haven’t seen as well), it seriously fails to mention what is really practiced by Israel that is turning a whole generation that was fed on Oslo and peace into willingly turning to “terrorists”. I always avoided Nazi descriptions to Israel. But each day Israel makes itself more and more close and a real reflection of a Nazi state. Failing once again, to realize that oppression cannot but produce at some point what they want to call terrorism. What we will call Resistance. I will not be surprised that at one point, there will be certain awareness in all those voluntarily recruited generation into online “terrorism” among the Muslims that will shift their concentration from killing other “infidel” Muslims and realize that Israel is the enemy. At the end those recruited are fighting some oppression they believe strongly they are living in. Israeli media, again, instead of focusing on what is causing “terror”, whether online or “on-ground”, continue to “preach” a misleading campaign that is full of true facts with no true intention of even pointing to what caused these facts. It always feels less depressive to realize that it is not only we Palestinians that are caught up in being backwards and tribal …
