Depopulated in 1948 , al walajeh was one of Jerusalem villages , that currently belongs to Bethlehem governate where the villagers returned after the war, but yet falls into what is called area c zone , a settlement engulfs it , most of the lands are confiscated … whatever is left remains an attempt of an ongoing struggle to survive on the basics…. barely living .a continuous attempt of a systemic ethnic cleansing … to the land and people
