We were in our office when a voice suddenly broke the silence outside. It echoed through a loudspeaker. We stopped what we were doing and listened. Within seconds, we realized we were listening to someone reading the answers to the Tawjihi exam.
We followed the voice until it led us to a car parked outside one of the schools. Loudspeakers were mounted on its roof. A young man grabbed the microphone and announced:
“Helping students during the exam is a good deed.”

The Palestinian crisis is no longer simply about who governs Gaza or who succeeds the president in the West Bank. It is a crisis of legitimacy, representation, and collective purpose. As fragmentation deepens, the urgent question is whether what remains of the Palestinian collective can be preserved before temporary division becomes a permanent condition.
